I've been a fan of the late Michael Crichton since way back before he WAS Michael Crichton. (That is, when he was writing under the name John Lange while still at Harvard Med School.)
Interesting guy with a fascinating mind. I stumbled across this old taped interview with Merv Griffin done back when Michael was publicizing his then new book, ELECTRONIC LIFE.
Here's the link And if you are a full-out Crichton reader, you might want to tune in on that website-blog, Musings on Michael Crichton, maintained by Marla Warren. Lots of interesting Michael Crichton archives, including links to all of the articles and reviews he wrote for the HARVARD CRIMSON.
Hmm, just occurred to me that wasn't it after ELECTRONIC LIFE that Michael Crichton moved into his series of technothrillers, beginning with JURASSIC PARK? Seems to me that until then it was mostly medical and adventure, nothing that we'd now term technothrillers. I'll have to check my Crichton collection.
